Digital transformation refers to the process of leveraging digital technology by an organization to enhance their client experience, internal operations, or business model through innovation, invention, or efficiency.

It is a set of attitudes, skills, and behaviors that enable individuals and organizations to effectively navigate and leverage the complexities of a global digital environment. Global Digital Mindset consists of Global Psychological Capital, Global Intellectual Capital, Global Social Capital, and Global Digital Capital. 

Today’s organizations are experiencing two critical, interrelated, and mutually reinforcing mega trends: Globalization, and digital transformation. The confluence of global and digital business reflects the opportunities offered by advancements in new technologies and increasing availability of global markets.

Success in a global digital environment requires the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups, as well as the ability to work effectively in the context of digital transformation. A Global Digital Mindset helps an individual to understand, explain, and act effectively in a global digital environment. It consists of a set of beliefs about the context as well a set of beliefs about the self. A strong global digital mindset helps an individual at any organizational level succeed in a global and digital environment. 

It stands for Global Digital Mindset Inventory. It is a scientifically based assessment tool that is designed to measure an individual’s, or a group’s ability to succeed in a global digital environment.

Global Digital Mindset is a constellation of four critical dimensions: global intellectual capital, global digital capital, global social capital, and global psychological capital. The Global Digital Mindset Inventory (GDMI) is scientifically designed to measure an individual’s profile of global digital mindset in terms of these four dimensions.

It was created by Professor Mansour Javidan, Ph.D.,  Najafi Chair in Global Mindset and Digital Transformation, and Executive Director of Najafi Global Mindset Institute at Thunderbird School of Global Management, Arizona State University, in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. He is a multiple award-winning and bestselling author and executive educator whose teaching and research interests span the globe. Dr. Javidan has been recognized by Stanford University as among the top 2% most cited scientists in the field of business and management in the world in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. He was also recently recognized as among the top 100 most influential (i.e., top 0.6%) authors in Organization Behavior in the world. Dr. Javidan was awarded the 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award by the International Leadership Association.

The GMI is Global Mindset Inventory and was created by Professor Mansour Javidan in 2007. It is a scientifically designed instrument that measures an individual’s potential to succeed in global roles. It has three main dimensions: Global Intellectual Capital, Global Psychological Capital, and Global Social Capital. Over 70000 managers and professionals from many countries have completed this questionnaire. The GDMI is the new iteration of this instrument and adds Global Digital Capital to GMI.

It should take approximately 15 minutes to complete the assessment.

The GDMI is designed for anyone who works, or aspires to work, in a global organization that has embarked, or aspires to embark, in some form of digital transformation. Executives, managers, professionals, and graduate students in related fields can significantly benefit from completing the assessment.

Yes we do offer a version of the assessment for individuals seeking to develop their global digital mindset. You will first need to create an account, then you may purchase an individual assessment.

The price for Corporate Clients is $200 per invited person. The price for Academic Clients, students and professors, is $50 per invited person. Students or academics who wish to use the GDMI in research, will be able to use the instrument free of charge.

No. That is actually the case for almost all individuals. It will be rare to find individuals that are masters of all four dimensions.

You will receive your feedback report immediately after completing the assessment. They will be available on a portal. A PDF version of the report can be downloaded on the portal. The feedback report is self-explanatory and easy to interpret.

You are the only person to receive your results. Individual results are confidential. If you are part of a group that is completing the assessment, only group averages will be made available to the whole group.
